Air Sealing Systems
Environmentally focused, Pro Clima is the world leader in complete, ecological, airtightness and vapor control systems: membranes, tapes, gaskets and adhesives - all supported by intensive building science research. Pro Clima was founded in 1978, by Lothar Moll, a pioneer in biological and ecological building methods, with a degree in Engineering Wood Technology Study and Industrial Engineering. Pro Clima developed the first variable-permeability vapor retarder, and was then endorsed by the Fraunhofer Institute of Building Physics. At the beginning of the millennium Pro Clima introduced SOLITEX, a new range of monolithic non-porous and vapor diffusion open roofing and wall lining membranes. Unlike conventional micro-porous membranes, monolithic membranes actively transport vapour out of building elements more reliably. In 2004 the high-performance INTELLO PLUS airtight smart vapor control membrane set new standards for protection from mold and decay in construction. The cornerstone of the tapes is a SOLID acrylic adhesive that has confirmed in third party testing, 100+ years of durable performance. Today, Pro Clima, at its headquarters in Schwetzingen, Germany, develops climate-adapted building envelope and sealing systems and distributes them to more than 30 countries worldwide (with subsidiaries in New Zealand and Australia) and continues to research specific sustainable solutions for the performance and requirements of the building envelope systems of the future. With Pro Clima and 475, you can benefit from our experience, reliability and expert, dependable support - backed-up by a comprehensive, transparent and fair warranty.
Wood Fiberboard Insulation
Gutex is a leader in innovative, environmentally-friendly manufacturing and is the only manufacturer to use a ‘dry’ manufacturing process which is capable of producing single-ply, highly compressive resistant, wood fiberboard insulation, in thicknesses up to 9.5 inches. With over 75 years in the industry, today, the dry manufacturing process Gutex employs is state-of-the-art, producing wood fiberboard using approximately 40% less energy than is required in making conventional wood fiberboard with a ‘wet’ manufacturing process. The fiberboards are vapor permeable and help regulate moisture, producing a pleasant and healthy indoor climate. Gutex wood fiberboards provide excellent thermal and acoustic insulation. The ULTRATHERM and MULTITHERM fiberboards can also act as a WRB, simplifying construction sequencing. The less dense THERMOSAFE fiberboard has a higher R value and dense-pack THERMOFIBER is also available. The raw material for all Gutex insulation boards comes solely from wood that is harvested and grown using sustained forestry management practices in the Black Forest surrounding it in Germany. It is obtained as chips and shavings from sawmills located near the Gutex plant, another environment-friendly feature. The wood fiberboard sequesters carbon - both saving operational energy and locking in carbon for the long term.

Passive House Institute
International Passive House Certification body
The Passive House Institute (PHI) is an independent research institute founded 1996 with a continuously growing interdisciplinary team of over 60 employees. PHI has played an especially crucial role in the development of the Passive House concept and has assumed a leading research and development position of construction concepts, building components, planning tools and quality assurance for very energy efficient buildings. PHI has been responsible for the building physics related consultancy and technical guidance on a number of firsts including the first Passive House office building, the first Passive House factory, the first Passive House schools and gymnasiums, the first Passive House indoor pool halls and the first Passive House retrofits. The Institute is currently providing such expertise for numerous new, innovative projects. The Passive House Institute makes its knowledge available to everyone: its research, its certification and training programmes, as well as the distribution of its planning tools such as the Passive House Planning Package (PHPP) and designPH.
Retrotec began as a blower door manufacturer in Ottawa, Canada and by 1984, they grew to include offices in the US. Retrotec soon expanded their services to include instruction for home performance and whole house diagnostics professionals. Since that time Retrotec has evolved into the world’s leading manufacturer of building diagnostic tools, software and manufacturer’s certification. Retrotec blower doors and duct testers were specifically geared towards for-profit contractors. The target was professionals that build and retrofit high performance houses that don’t qualify for government subsidies. The not-for-profit sector developed overtime into a driving force for technological innovation and grew the expertise of its workforce. Now, Retrotec designs and delivers equipment and applications for testers and researchers in both sectors. Retrotec now has over two dozen employees in the US and exports to over 50 countries making it the largest blower door/duct tester manufacturer in the world by a factor of two. The decision to pair with Wöhler Technik in 2017 came as an unmatched opportunity. While the acquisition stands to provide future opportunities in related industries, Wöhler and Retrotec continue to run as separate entities, with no changes in Retrotec's branding, distribution network, and daily business operations.
