With over 75 years in the industry, today, the dry manufacturing process Gutex employs is state-of-the-art, producing wood fiberboard using approximately 40% less energy than is required in making conventional wood fiberboard with a ‘wet’ manufacturing process. The fiberboards are vapor permeable and help regulate moisture, producing a pleasant and healthy indoor climate. Gutex wood fiberboards provide excellent thermal and acoustic insulation. The ULTRATHERM and MULTITHERM fiberboards can also act as a WRB, simplifying construction sequencing. The less dense THERMOSAFE fiberboard has a higher R value and dense-pack THERMOFIBER is also available. The raw material for all Gutex insulation boards comes solely from wood that is harvested and grown using sustained forestry management practices in the Black Forest surrounding it in Germany. It is obtained as chips and shavings from sawmills located near the Gutex plant, another environment-friendly feature. The wood fiberboard sequesters carbon - both saving operational energy and locking in carbon for the long term.
