We’re excited to sponsor this Passive House Panel Discussion by AIA|DC and Capital Area CRAN. The discussion focuses on Passive House design, technology, and green building. Bringing together a range of perspectives, this panel will feature experts from the local residential architecture community as well as a representative from the US Passive House Institute (PHIUS).
Panelists include Gregory Upwall (AIA), David Peabody (AIA), Bruce Zavos (AIA) and James Ortega (PHIUS).
After attending this course, participants will be able to:
1. Identify core principles and design techniques of Passive House standards;
2. Describe local Passive House projects and the process that was needed to make them a reality;
3. Explain the process to become a Passive House Certified Professional; and
4. Discuss the direction of Passive House design in our local community and the pros and cons of the standards in relation to local building code and energy requirements.
