New York Passive House is holding a Certified Passive House Tradesperson (CPHT) course on May 15th – 19th in Bronx, NY. This course is aimed at building contractors working on building enclosures as well as designers and consultants looking to learn the practical skills required of building to the Passive House standard. It involves 5 days of direct contact classroom and hands-on workshop training, from 9.30am to 5.00pm and entails a combination of classroom lectures and presentations as well as practical work and experience in the Passive House building workshop. Training staff will also give a series of Passive House demonstrations, including Blower Door test demo and ERV operation to name just two.Training manuals and all practical equipment and materials required for workshop are provided. Participants are required to bring standard personal PPE including site suitable work clothing, safety boots and high visibility vest. Dust masks, gloves and eye protection will be provided as required.
The subsequent CPHCT-BE exam is set by the International Passive House Institute and takes place all round the world on pre-determined dates per year. We aim to schedule our training to align closely with the exam dates. On successfully passing the exam, Participants will receive the internationally recognized accreditation as ‘Certified Passive House Tradesperson – Building Envelope Specialist’, joining a rapidly expanding global community. The class is also BPI accredited for CEU points and is worth 17.5 credits
