Cambridge, MA Passive House Home Tour and Seminar

Cambridge event photoVisit a Passive House under construction using some of the latest technologies from 475 High Performance Building Supply. Drywall and other finishes will not be installed until after the tour so visitors can see 475’s best practice airtight details and Group Design Build Inc’s skill in executing these details (floor bypasses with MENTO, service cavities, window taping with TESCON Profect etc). Systems used include:

Combining Wood Framing, Airsealing and Woodfiber Insulation: Marrying Carbon Sequestering Enclosures with Airsealing Technology to create Healthy, Durable Buildings

At 4 pm, hear from Pro Clima’s Export Manager, Jens Luder Herms, on the challenges and benefits of airsealing and waterproofing full wood assemblies.

This presentation will focus on the latest developments in delivering the highest specification for diffusion open, healthy, low energy, sustainable buildings using more natural materials and cutting-edge building technologies.

Luder supports product research and technology at Pro Clima and develops new export markets. His intimate knowledge of Pro Clima products, strong background in building science, degree in structural engineering and experience with carpentry give him a unique perspective on the integration of these new building components with one of the oldest building materials: wood.
