DWG Construction Details for Low-Energy & Passive House Foam-Free Assemblies

DWGdetails1

475 High Performance Building Supply (475) works  to make high-performance construction less complicated and more understandable – working to help you achieve the highest levels of success. In our latest effort, focusing on Climate Zones 4 and up, we are introducing downloadable electronic construction details in DWG format for use by architects, engineers, consultants and builders.

Composed simply and clearly in the free CAD software Draftsight – these drawings can be cut and pasted, mixed and matched, edited and customized to form the basis of a complete approach to airsealing and vapor control required by your next high-performance construction project.

The drawings include: basic control layer notes, and multiple assembly detail options for floors, walls and roofs as well as window, pipe and wire penetrations.

The drawings are built with just four layers and four colors – all in model space – to facilitate ease of understanding and use.   The red connotes interior airtightness components, while the blue, exterior airtightness/wind-tightness.  The essential Pro Clima products needed every step of the way are clearly noted.

We now have five drawing set DWG files available in our Quality Control section.

DWGdetails2In the coming weeks we will be adding at least one more drawing set:

  • Metal Frame Construction – beta

These are all “beta” because as we develop the details we are refining and adding new ones, in the hopes of simplifying and clarifying further.   We hope that as you examine and customize these details in your work that you’ll share with us your questions and comments.   This is the starting point, not the end.   We look forward to working with you.   Please don’t hesitate to email us at info@foursevenfive.com.

      Hi Michael,
We’ve only used it for these few drawings so hard to say. But I think as long as 2D is what you need – it seems to have the functionality to work well.

Should you ever run out of ideas (ha!), I’d love to see some good CDs for high performance foundations – ICFs and Superior Precast foundations, etc.
